MARINE
Imagine – a product that works just like an anti-fouling agent but contains no pesticides or heavy metals. Coval Marine has a high surface tension and an extremely tight matrix. It creates a thin outer surface that is just too smooth and slippery for marine growth to anchor (pun intended) and significantly reduces the build-up of barnacles and slime that increase drag and fuel consumption, while at the same time protects the hull from salt corrosion.
Coval Marine works on steel and composite hulls, underwater running gear, propellers, shafts, struts, strainers, and stabilizers. Used on props, this coating has been effective at eliminating and preventing pitting from cavitation.
Apart from seafaring vessels, this technology can also be used to protect marine infrastructures, dams, concrete pilings, concrete holding ponds, oil rigs, and is safe for use in fish hatcheries.

Ecological Antifouling
As an effective foul-release technology Coval Marine is safer for the environment and complies with all current
and upcoming Federal and State EPA mandates. The products are low VOC and contain no carcinogens, no copper or other heavy metals, or pesticides. Switching to Coval coatings during regularly scheduled dry dock can be the basis for carbon credit projects and fleet investment in clean technologies. Organizations can simultaneously increase eco-efficiency and fuel economy while enhancing their environmental image within the industry.
Prevent Cavitation Pitting and Saltwater Corrosion
Testing on Matson Navigation Company’s “Maunawili” 2,600 TEU / 22.5 KT container vessel revealed staying power that supremely outlasted other coatings, offering real savings in terms of time and cost for maintenance in dry-dock. Propellers were first prepared by grinding to pre-specified grades and then coated. After twenty months, inspections revealed that the coating was firmly intact, with no cavitation damage and no effect on vessel displacement. Notably, Coval Marine was the only coating that survived past six months on these propellers.
Coval Marine is used on the Ghana Navy Patrol Boats which are ex-US Navy PB MK3 patrol
craft built in the 1970’s and sold to Ghana in 2001. Applied over traditional marine paint, Marine & Hull Coat has
eliminated Ghana’s corrosion issues and reduced their maintenance costs over 60% by preventing marine
growth on the hulls. Maintenance crews who inspect the vessels report that the hulls are much easier to clean
and have averaged between 3-8 gallons per hour reduction in fuel consumption.
Drag Reduction & Efficiency
Only a thin, light weight coat is needed to outperform traditional thicker coatings in terms of coverage and durability. Coval Marine adds less than half the weight of traditional coatings, resulting in a higher top speed at lower RPM, less drag, and lower engine stress. The lighter coating weight also lowers overall ship’s weight to allow more efficient use of tonnage. The coating is transparent, semi self-cleaning and needs no primer when used on any non-ferrous substrate. This translates into significantly lower life cycle costs. The high level of protection against a wide range of chemical agents, UV damage and stains keeps vessels looking and performing like new, extends their useful service life and increases ROI per vessel.
